A Message from Rich Johnson, Concerned Resident rjohn2255@aol.com

Recently I was informed that the Baker School Board had placed a General Obligation Bond in the amount of $3,200,000.00 on the November 2nd 2010 ballot. My first thought was how did a Bond Issue get on the ballot without any public input? When I did some followup, the school said the public was surveyed, and they were found to support the bond issue. I have yet to find anyone who knew about the bond being placed on the ballot. They may have conducted the survey, but if so they did a poor job of it.

Being a resident and taxpayer in Baker I felt compelled to investigate this Bond issue situation.
After correspondence with Baker School Board President Kelly Fisher she issued statements found in the links provided at www.bakerschoolbond.com

Since the residents of the School District were not informed in a timely manner, no one had the opportunity to place opposing comments on the ballot for Measure D, the bond issue. This letter is my only way to inform the Community.
